About Morzine

Morzine is a characterful alpine market town sitting at 1000 metres in the heart of the Portes du Soleil, the largest linked ski domain in the world. Originally a small farming village, it has grown into a year-round destination without losing its traditional Savoyard charm — wooden chalet roofs, slate eaves and a lively Saturday market still define the centre. With direct lift links to both Avoriaz and Les Gets, Morzine is an ideal base for any level of skier. Families and intermediates love the gentle tree-lined pistes around the Pléney and Nyon sectors, while advanced skiers can head high into Avoriaz for some of the most demanding terrain in the Alps. Off the slopes and Morzine is one of the rare French resorts with a genuine après-ski and nightlife scene, plus excellent restaurants, a large indoor pool, an ice rink and easy access from Geneva that makes short ski breaks simple.

Morzine • Les Gets & Portes du Soleil

Morzine has its own family-friendly ski area across Morzine-Les Gets — tree-lined runs perfect for beginners and intermediates, with around 50 local lifts. The same lift pass then opens onto the full Portes du Soleil domain: 12 linked resorts, 209 lifts and 600 km of pistes straddling the Franco-Swiss border. With the Super Morzine gondola you can be in Avoriaz in minutes, or hop over the résort col through Châtel and the Swiss sectors. There is something for every skier here, from gentle greens to the famously steep runs above Avoriaz and the off-piste of the Vallée de la Manche.
